MemoryLane runs in the background and takes periodic screenshots of your screen. Each screenshot is sent to a Zero Data Retention (ZDR) AI endpoint, which analyzes it and returns a short text summary of the activity. That summary is what gets saved, and it's saved locally on your laptop. The screenshot itself is deleted right after the AI provider processes it: it's never stored and never used to train AI models, per contractual commitments from providers like Google and Anthropic.
